Final Roof Inspections
The final inspection means that the building department can proceed with closing the permit out and place it in their records.
The inspector is satisfied that everything he has seen complies with all the State and local codes. The public officials assume no liability for improper work but that by appearance the project is within compliance.
The inspector will confirm that all work has been completed. That any and all left over materials have been removed or secured for the homeowner’s future use. That nothing is left on the roof itself and that cleanup procedures are satisfactory.
The inspector will sign off on the inspection card expressing that the building department agrees that the roofing project is now complete. It is our recommendation that as the homeowner, you should keep the entire permit and inspection packet for your own records and for your own documentation if future reference is ever warranted.
